Had a Presswell version for years and recently obtained the Monarch, My opinion is the Monarch has more balanced energy. Both are great but the Monarch wins the duel.

Did a shootout with this and the most recent Jimmy Page remaster and decided to keep this pressing. Much warmer sound, the remaster seemed like it had some harsher high end. Whereas this pressing has a much smoother sound and a more pleasant listening experience in the end. I could definitely see how the RL cut could pack more punch, though. Still very curious about that pressing

Although the Page/Marino remasters have been much maligned, this edition is stunning for it's clarity, detail, and punch.

In reference to variant 3. Sadly, this has been noise reduced, and it affects the sound significantly.

Ima the brag club in finding a 'RL' out in the Wyld. Rando Goodwill lot buy, and the disc looks un-played. so. Good for me! and I welcome myself into the braggart's club.

Have a copy for sale, the color is washed on this one, more tan versus brown on gatefold cd - also have other Chinese knock off of Japanese mini sleeves with the inserts (no obi's tho) - me if interested.

My brother has this version with the gp initials, I think it sounds great, even with the scuffs on the record. It sounds better than the one with ef initials on it

Well, I just picked this up in prior to today I’ve never heard this pressing. I’ve heard a lot of other ones. I’ve owned the mobile fidelity, RL, classic, and I have to say this pressing is as close as you’re gonna get to any of those for a fraction of the money. Well, worth picking up unless you just really wanna spend hundreds to get 5% better Sound

My copy is not from Walmart but has this cat.#/barcode sticker/Made in . It absolutely sounds phenomenal. I've experienced none of the distortion issues mentioned previously. It's worth ing that LZ2 was recorded over 55 years ago, so there's going to be sonic compromises. But this thing through my system (Nagaoka MP110/Hitachi PS-38/Sansui G7700/JBL L166 & 4301b) rumbles and barks with great definition and presence. All the charming warts are there too: tape hiss, amp buzz, weird phasing and panning. And my pressing plays faultlessly. I've never owned the vaunted "RL" , but given the 19 bucks I paid for this I'm okay with that.
