Edited 3 months agoGot this for nothing at a estate sale.
Mine has a " Gold Record Award" sticker on the cover. Previous owner must have loved it. Out of the nearly 30 records I grabbed today its the most crackly.
Its sounds great... too bad it's my least fav Zep album. -
Edited 7 months agoThis is the best OG I have although I have no RLs or 1969 UKs as they are out of my income bracket. This one is vibrant and much more clear and sassy than other US OGs I have. Not as clear as the double Piros 1972 or Al Brown / Piros 1972 which I would rate ahead of this one. That being said this is a good OG to pick up if you can get a relatively clean one as the music powers through modest vinyl noise without much distraction.

These OG "red label" Canadian pressings are the best kept secret --I also have an OG UK "wreck" pressing & an OG USA "Ludwig Hot Mix" Monarch pressing --and this Canadian beats them both. But don't tell anyone.

This is constantly on repeat at my place. Haunting melodies from front to back on this record. There is no comparison when it comes to sound quality either. The drums are a huge highlight here, from the snare echo's to the ringing symbols and the thunderous bass drum, nothing beats it. Easy 10/10

my copy of this has some kind of a signature on side 2. It looks like a sideways F or an airplane. But up close it appears to be a signature that is printed on the label. I don't think it's pen but actually printed along with the rest of the label info. I can't find this anywhere.

I have 2 copies of this, both sound amazing.
One of my copies has been mislabeled with Led Zeppelin 1's label on side 1. Pretty cool, not sure how many they sent out with that mistake.
Should I list it as a separate mispress? I can't have the only one. -
I own many, many pressings of this one including the vaunted hot mix Ludwig. This old beat up Canadian red label won’t be leaving the collection any time soon. Nice strong bass, great dynamics, it’s a keeper!!

I've been listening to this album since my childhood in the late 70's. This is absolutely a splendid way to hear this record. Canadian Red Label Atlantic!!! Get some!
