Talking Heads – Stop Making Sense

Dynamic range 11. Nice sounding remaster, one of few, in my opinion. Just compared it to original CD with half as songs. Both are easy on ears.

HDCD encoded but no HDCD logo on disc or packaging.
Sounds good, possibly better than the new vinyl but not as good as the original CD.
Follows the trend of remastered editions having complete tracklists but not sounding as good as originals.

Not much to add about the pressing, which is excellent but falls short of the OP. The extra songs make this release more than worth the investment.

Just a note about the hype sticker - it inaccurately says that the original booklet is included. It was not. Just the new interviews with the band

bought it for the soundtrack and the DTS layer rocks with great presence and soundstage. A Steve Hoffman level of clarity.

I played with the TrueHD dolby rendering between the Oppo and the Onkyo and found the stereo version to be crisper in every way.

This edition is special not only because the booklet is limited and it sounds a thousand times better than the bad 2024 reissue boo. I don't understand why. This never sounded so good, it's a sonic dream

I went to see the movie a few days ago and this vinyl sounds better. Nothing else to say about the sound, unbeatable.
The packaging is the weak point: two records and it's not gatefold, the cardboard is ultra thin, and the art design that came in the previous edition and was d on their Instagram is missing. At least it comes in poly-lined inner sleeves.

So I also made the mistake of thinking the movie would be included. It is the expanded 18 song audio only. However, what we get is outstanding. The Surround mix is good, but I don't have an Atmos setup to properly hear all the channels. I focused on the stereo mix and was blown away. Both the Blu-ray and CDs seem to have the identical mix and it is dynamic and enjoyable. I am so glad I chose this version over the vinyl record. I still like the 80's CD version but with the expanded songs and excellent mastering this will be my go to way of listening.

An original pressing does sound better in most ways, clearer vocals and soundstage. This pressing can sometimes sound a bit muddy in comparison. But I still think it's worth getting as having all the tracks on vinyl for once is super cool.

Spectacular sound for a digital live album(analog recording, digital mix). Analog/digital, I don't care. This recording has always sounded amazing. One of the greatest concert films of all time?

This is just an amazing pressing. Get it while you can!
