Their best, Ocasek´s vision in crisp, explosive detail, bridging the underground and the mainstream in the Nuggets jolt of Just What I Needed, the cheery despair in Best Friend's Girl and Moving In Stereo's glacial enigma.

Hey there. I worked at a record store back in the day and usually the one opening new shipments. I came across a singular copy of this disc that has an obviously misprinted jacket, as it has a pink hue both on the front and back. Anyone else come across such a thing? I put it aside for myself and is still sealed after all these years.

Such a great pressing! Punchy, dynamic, just all around kick ass album pressing. The mastering on this is top notch and sounds fantastic!

Edited 9 months agoJust such a clean and good sounding album. A great OG. If you missed the Rhino High Fidelity when it went on sale last year like I did and you can find one of these, you're going to do just fine. The sonics are that good! I have the Candy-O Rhino HF and it's got great sonics, but so does this.

I was in my local Mom and Pop this morning and heard the opening licks of Good Times Roll and said to myself that has to be one of those Sterling presses I've been after. Asked if i could see it while checking out and sure enough it was. Added it to my pile. Sounds outstanding.

Just picked up this US 1st pressing and it is super clean and clear. It is a great sounding copy, except there absolutely NO BASS….. I had to double check to see if my subs were still working. Does anyone else this issue with this pressing?

Simple description, this is the definitive version of the Cars S/T. This is a true audiophile release and 40 dollars plus shipping. Better than the Original press, tons better than MOFI version.

Edited 2 years agoDid a recent shoot out with this pressing (similar to variant 8, A5/B4 PRC-W) and the Nautilus and MoFi. While the DCC CD may be the best sounding version overall, I think this run of the mill original press LP sounds the best of those three vinyl pressings. I did not sample the Rhino remaster from a few years ago. The Nautilus has a definite midrange scoop and is not cut as hot as this. And the MoFI is interesting but it just has a more distant sound and lacks the punch of the original. YMMV, but I say give this a spin and ENJOY!! It certainly sounds better than the 8-track I had as a kid...

I discovered this album in my local record store. 1st pressing from Canada, sounds really good and was in excellent condition with slight edge wear on the sleeve and original inner. Great album
