Bought on re-release, but just now properly listening - crunchy tight dynamic - new doc movie looks good - going to local IMAX next weekend.

I have since sold this edition to buy an original US pressing, which is a bit better than this cut, but this was actually a really nice pressing. There was a slight pressing defect on "Babe..." but it was two pops and that was it. Other than that, it was dead silent. It had lots of bass, good dynamics, and it was really detailed. I actually really liked this one a lot.
The bonus show is good too, but keep in mind it is in mono and not to the same quality as a studio album, which I knew going into it. But Pagey, being the perfectionist he is, did a lot of doctoring on this release and cut a lot of ages out (a good chunk of the Heartbreaker solo, parts of Dazed and Confused, parts of How Many More Times...etc.) and the track listing was swapped in order to fit the album on two discs only. If you don't own an original, this is a great pressing! -
Easily the best of the reissues (in of mastering). The bass is on point, as the highs and the mids. The deluxe content (the live from Paris) is enough to make you buy this release (at least for me). Highly recommended!
P.S. I'm not an audiophile, so I'm not saying that this is the best release of the album, but it's good enough for me. -

I just bought mine, what I believe to be a 2020 repressing. I note that the Matrix etchings are identical to the 2020 standard repress (LP 1) but on a Deluxe version. Unfortunately there is an audible drop in levels towards the end chorus of Communication Breakdown. The sound is suddenly muffled and thinned on the last 5-6 seconds of the song, I'm sure there is a technical name for it, but this is the best I can describe it. Quite a disappointment as this does not happen on my 80s reissue. I cleaned the record but the issue persists. Has anybody experienced this?

So what people talk about when they think this sounds bad is most likely the digital mastering. I myself was expecting this to be a great sounding issue but after listening I felt like it was missing something and still prefererad my older 70s issue. I thought it had a lot of detail with a clean press but for some reason sounded very flat and sterile. If you are looking for the best sounding new versions of these albums I hear that the Classic Records releases are a good choice. They are very expensive but are made by people who really care and do great mastering for vinyl. I myself am getting one and doing a blind test to see which I think sounds best between the 70s issue, 2014 remaster and 2007 Classic Records version. In the end its a good record and if you dont mind that much its just a great deal, but personally I would go for many 70s reissues that are in NM condition over this.
Update:
The Classic Records release by Grundman are easily superior for some albums and closer with others, they are never worse than the 2014 reissues however.

Go for it! The two extra LP are indeed worthly! Supperb Quality and the guys from Optimal Media made it again, nice printing, nice Tri-fold Sleeve, going for the IV tomorrow! Cheers all!

Just got done playing LP 1 the main album. It is a quality pressing, flat and pretty much dead quiet but only after a workout with the VPI. It was pretty dirty with dust, paper schmeg and even fingerprints. Would have been upset if I didn't have the VPI. Clear and a well balanced stereo mix. Much better than my 1974 US and my 1977 US George Piro is comparable. Overall very pleased. Will review the concert LP's shortly. SL1200 Mk3 and an AT15SS cart.
So if you've been sitting on the fence wondering whether or not to pull the trigger on this, I am happy with it and would recommend. This is my first purchase of any of the Page remasters. My II, III and V (Houses of the Holy) are solid and don't need replacing, but now I'm considering IV after having heard this. And having the concert makes the small extra cost much more worthwhile than just the single LP release of this pressing.
