A disaster…
Nonetheless the pressing is bad as others commented already, but the disc À was missing and I got instead 2 G discs… on top of that the sides are not mentioned on the records labels so you struggle to always understand which disc is it …
TOTAL DISASTER -
This 2 star rating is for the pressing quality. It’s really bad. My copy is from EU.
My previous experience with Waterhouse release of Westworld se1 3LP version was equally disappointing. A lot of disc defects and pops marring an otherwise amazing score. Hope there will be a repress some time down the road. -
I picked this up to compare to the 2lp version, and I was very disappointed. The packaging is a joke and the records came scuffed. It’s also cut very quietly. Only good thing about this is the addition of “Mountains”, but not worth it.
The 2lp version is a much nicer product, and cheaper too! -
I am very fortunate that my copy has minimal noise and sounds great. However it did clearly have fingerprints on the vinyl itself.

Edited 4 years agoBased on the negative reviews here and on Amazon, I skipped this release and grabbed the Euro release that's pressed by GZ. The Euro pressing is the one to get! Quiet vinyl and nicely mastered.

Edited 4 years ago3 copies from 3 different outlets and they all are the same. I cannot believe how much surface noise is on this one. By far the worst pressing I've personally heard from RTI. I know RTI has had several shutdowns over the past year due to COVID and I can only assume that QC suffered from that. And this is well beyond the poor production with the paper sleeves and smudges on the discs (which are annoying regardless).
It's a shame because in the louder moments the record sounds exactly what I hoped for. Stephen Marsh did an excellent job remastering for vinyl, especially managing the spacing of tracks across discs. This album HAD to be extremely difficult to cut... and it's at a lower volume than most albums to for the timing. Unfortunately this only exemplifies the surface noise even more. With so many quiet ages it's basically unlistenable.
Can't believe that I'm going out of my way to track down a GZ pressing...
UPDATE: Recommend the EU GZ pressing. It's not perfect but surface noise is minimal, and it retains the sound quality. Absolutely the way to go here. -

Edited 4 years agoUnfortunately the majority of reviews here are right. It sounds terrible and they are some of the dirtiest LPs i've ever seen. Deep fingerprint stains and a a strange 'wash' all over it when it catches light. So much surface noise too. I'll be looking for other pressings.....
UPDATE: I ed watertower music about this, referring them to these reviews. They are looking into the issue with their manufacturer. -
This release is a disaster. Got two copies from Amazon and both arrived with scuffs, fingerprints and vinyl bits around the paper sleeve that ended up scratching the first set I returned. Even after two deep cleans and vacuuming it still clicks and pops like crazy. Its a shame that such an amazing soundtrack is given this horrible pressing from a plant that clearly does not give a damn about quality control. Don't know if I should import the UK pressing, anyone know if they come from the same plant?

Unfortunately it's a 50/50 w/ RTI. Not sure what is up w/ their quality control being so bad but my record came w/ smudges and marks all over it. I also have surface noise and to top it all off, the hole in the vinyl is too small to where it doesn't fit my turn table. Every time I see RTI presses a record I want, I prepare myself to be let down.
