Quite possibly the best Miles album of the sixties. No weak spots whatsoever.
The pressing is very good overall, very good dynamic range, headroom all across the spectrum. Some pops and clicks here and there though.
Music: 10/10

Brand new Music On Vinyl lp. I notice that the horns and piano are L the bass Center-Right, and drums R.
Does anyone else have this experience?
I will say that the MOV vinyl is dead black quiet, though it gives my anti-static brush a workout.
Cheers,

My copy of this pressing sounds amazing. Very quiet vinyl, excellent soundstage, balance, dynamics. Sounds much better than the newer Music on Vinyl pressing I have.

Compared to a two eye US this has a similar character. The remix on CD/MoFi/MoV has its charms too, but this sounds authentic to me. No issue with side two fidelity.

Edited 4 months agoI own four pressings of Mile Smiles. This one, the MoFi 45 rpm, the Speakers Corner, and the Music on Vinyl pressing. First of all, this pressing has a much nicer jacket than the previous MoFi , which was overly saturated. Secondly, the vinyl is dead flat and insanely quiet. Very low noise floor. Soundwise, it is close to the MoFi 45 rpm, but is a tad less three dimensional, and has weaker bass. It’s till sounds freaking awesome. As such, it will probably be my go to copy from now on, as I am not really a fan of 45 rpm records. It beats the Speakers Corner by quite a bit (although that one is a bit warmer perhaps), and the MoV by a siginificant margin. Recommended!

I own a 67 stereo, a Speakers Corner, a Mofi 2x45 and this mono version. Just performed a shootout with the 45 and I do say I don't think you'll ever be able to pry this mono out of my hands. The mofi is fine but the mix fails to do what I need it to do in my system. My biggest beef is that that drums are centered in the mix but they stay at the speakers meaning they don't present center thus not making it a convincing image. In other words I can't find Tony! The mono kills the the stereo imagery in every way. Every instrument is separated and holographic. The speakers simply disappear on the mono. Fortunately my mono is near mint. Had I been dealing with surface noise issues I'd might go Mofi but I got lucky with this one. -
Sounds very nice overall. Unfortunately, there is some left-channel distortion on Footprints which sullies what would otherwise be a stellar pressing.
