Does anyone know if this release has any variations in the music (ie the mix) compared to the original vinyl release (as has "Slave" for example on the release of Tattoo You from this same series? - that version has an extra minute or so of the original studio jam included).

Nice clear sounding copy, unlike the muddy uk first press. Vinyl has low surface noise (yours may differ depending on condition). Charlie’s drums sound especially snappy and clear.

Overall great "dirty" sound. Some songs (A1, B4, ..) sound not so great to me - probably due to the compression.

This remix is actually quite good. As far as the sound on this pressing compared to its digital counterpart, I found the LP to have a more natural sound, whereas the digital version has a, to put it redundantly, more "digital" sound. It's certainly still got that muddy Goats Head Soup sound, but compared to the original mix, the remix seems to add more spaciousness to the music. Overall, I'd recommend giving this one a go if you're unsatisfied by the original mix of this album.

Really happy with this purchase mainly for the legendary Brussels Affair which is one of the Stones best live gigs, the Goats head soup tracks really shine live especially Heartbreaker.
The outtakes Criss Cross & All the rage finally officially released and could easily slot onto album proper. Only criticism is no booklet in boxset, no issues with distortion it sounds great and Goats Head Soup is a very good album that has stood the test of time & a real bargain I paid £28 !!!

Love the mastering on this japan copy . Well balanced sound and still have that punchy lows . I have yet to try UK or US copy to compare .

the bluray apparently is not compatible with my Sony home theater player. The menu loads, Dancing With Mr. D starts playing, and that’s it. I can’t select any of the menu items, it”s completely unresponsive.

My copy has a lot of distortion in the left channel, while there are no scratches, hairlines or any other damage. The distortion of the audio is especially present during A3, A4, B2 and B3.
