Cannot really add much as regards this epic release. I couldn't wait to buy this as a teenager, and played it a lot, but the vinyl and cover remain in a decent condition. The sound quality is indeed very good.

impossible to find the right version. the runouts on my copy are: Side A: YEX-929-2 OHO. Side B: YEX-930-2 PDO.

Question about the runout matrices - do the letters on them come directly after the main YEX 929 /930 code or are they located elsehwere in the runout, i.e. does 'YEX 929 - 1 GAA 5' appear as one string or is the GAA 5 bit seperate? Trying to workout which one Ive got! -

Stumbled Across An Original UK First Press Whilst I Was Out At A Local Record Store Crate Digging. The Cover Is Beat To Hell And Has Seam Splits Everywhere But I Was Over The Moon When I Got Home And Found That The LP Itself Was Absolutely Mint And Sounded Impeccable As If No One Had Ever Played It. Needless To Say It Was As If I Was Experiencing Band On The Run For The First Time Again And I Was Blown Away By How Good The Sound Was. I Have Mint First Pressings From The USA And Japan And They All Sound Incredible But There Was A Certain Smoothness And Roundness To The Sound On This First UK Copy That I've Never Experienced Before. As A Hardcore Solo And Wings Era McCartney Fan I Urge Everyone Who Loves McCartney To Get At Least An Original Press Regardless Of Where It's From As They All For The Most Part Sound Fantastic But The Original UK Just Has That Extra Something Special To It. The Original Japanese Is Every Bit As Good But Only A Tad Less Defined In It's Soundstage And The First USA Copies Have The Benefit Of Helen Wheels Being Added To Side 2. -
Fantastic pressing and the one to own of this landmark lp. Punchy as the day is long. Added the UK Helen Wheels single to it for the complete package! -
Uk second pressing for me (Yex 929-2) absolutely gorgeous sounding vinyl ! A must have (and still very cheap !) - better than any other versions I’ve had on vinyl and cd, original or remastered -
Just did an A-B with a -2 UK and a Wally US press. While the US pressing does sound good, this UK just has that lil extra touch of magic! The biggest difference is in the bass—it’s much tighter and more defined, the dynamics are healthy, but since this record was cut pretty hot, it’s got more slam than the original US. Do yourself a solid and get one! -
Great pressing - really warm and deep sound. Wings/McCartney never got better than this - an absolute classic.
