Not a bad song on this masterpiece of a record and should be in every collection. Dire Straits never disappoints with recording technicals and sound quality. I’m glad that I have a fantastic pressing to enjoy it. Highly recommended!

        I have 3 copies of this record. This May 1985 Specialty Pressing(free gifted), a 2019 180g Europe ReIssue ($36), and a 2019 MOFI ($60).

I will start off by saying that ALL three of these pressings sound VERY excellent. They may perhaps be a few of the best sounding records in my collection. Each of them sound just a hair different and special in their own right. They all sound so close that it’s too hard to pick one that sounds “the best”.

I will say that the MoFi has a warmer low end. Not as punchy in the vocals and a bit tamer on the highs. This is not a bad thing… perhaps gives it a warmer feel over all. But perhaps you may (by a minuscule measurement) miss out on some of the special details you find in the mids/highs on this original 1985 and the 2019 European 180g. These two albums sound VERY good in the mids. I love all the details you get to hear in these two.

Over all I would say that you cannot go wrong with any of these 3 pressings (choose your budget)

I love Brothers In Arms. One of the best audiophile listenings of all time.

My copy is a promo that says Compliments of image and includes a questionnaire that you had to fill out and send back to Image Consultants in LA. Also included is a stapled printout of an article by Bill Flanagan.

I have had the cd since 1988 and only picked this up on vinyl a couple years ago. Is the song "Why Worry" longer on the cd where the drums come back in and on the vinyl release they had to edit that for time on side 1? that is what I seem to . 5:22 is what the LP version shows while the CD version does show over 8 mins for that song....they had to cut it somewhere.....one more reason for the quick abandonment of the vinyl format by the late 80s.

I highly recommend adding this to your collection as it usually not crazy priced. An important side note- Brothers in Arms is the first album to sell over 1 million copies in the CD format. Also won the Grammy for best engineered album in 1986, so yes it sounds really good IMO.

My copy plays more like a 4.5-4.6. Some surface noise but it came out when i was 5. I enjoy it!

Crazy how good this RL pressing sounds. It sounds so good that one might think this was an audiophile pressing from the start, but it's a regular release. One of the best sounding records I've heard.

This vinyl sounds terrible, because it is digitally remastered.

                    It is very compressed.
