Certainly interesting for what it is. Cover is killer, and these Living Sounds Records are kinda historical markers of mid-century modern American lore. The sounds of the swimming pool sounds more like kids drowning than having fun. Ken Nordine adds a certain amount of ironic, detached, mercenary hipness to this as well, not that Julie Andrews doing 'Little Old Lady' needed any help to make it more commercialized and dreck-y, but, I certainly didn't buy this for $1 to be wowed by that song's strange pop whistling. Jack Kerouac cool it ain't, but weird history, oh, it is.
