Edited 19 days agoSingle greatest piece of media I've ever heard, even compared to other AP/QRP albums. Emotionally good sounding, even on a budget-oriented setup. Can't wait to listen to this after every system upgrade in the future but so good even now.

Wow…. I’ll start off with the fact that I am a Steely Dan fan and Aja is probably my second favorite album from them (Gaucho being my first). After hearing so much hype from the UHQR pressings I decided to treat myself with this album. Wow (again)….. this album comes to life even on my modest system. The fullness of this pressing… the separation of instruments. It’s beautiful. I’ve listened to this album countless times in my life but never like this. Absolutely fantastic. Set up: Pro-Ject EVO 2~ Ifi Zen Air phono pre amp~ pair of Klipsch R-51 powered speakers

Some people making negative comments should just come out and say “I wish that my wife would let me spend $150 dollars on a record like you guys”! 😂 Seriously these UHQR’s are awesome, flat and and incredibly clean and the sound is like Lord Vishnu’s voice welcoming you to samsara .

I've only been into vinyl for about 8 months and I'm wondering if I will really notice a difference on this and any UHQR vs the clean originals I have on the introductory setup I have or if I should wait until future upgrades.

Out of the 5 Steely Dan UHQRS thus far released this one sounds the most detailed all be it at the expense of being a little too bright on some of the vocals. I find it more enjoyable listening through headphones over speakers.

This definitely sounds better than my first pressing. However not better enough to flip it after ever other track so I do spin my OG more often. Definitely worth it if you want the absolute best

Pressing #12834. I’ve never heard a vinyl like this. Unreal. Absolutely Worth 150 for the package and sound, for one of the best records ever made

As of right now, I prefer my OG AB-1006 Santa Maria pressing. There is some resolution to me that is lacking vs the AB-1006.
Considering this was cut using tape copies to me makes sense.
That being said it is a very good sounding version, but on my system and my ears the AB-1006 sounds more engaging.
To those wondering:
Project Xtension 10 w/Lyra Kleos
Parasound A21+, JC2BP, Musical Surroundings Nova II, Rega RX5 speakers and dual SVS SB2000 subs. -
Finally get this one. It's sounds super clear and little bit boosted. However it's still missing dynamics, freshness and warmth of original.
