Notes
Part of Capitol's Limited Edition re-issue series of the UK catalog , issued late 1995, using the same catalog #s as the late 80s vinyl pressings and the CDs that were still on the market at the time. They are mastered from the same digital source tapes as the CD's.
All albums in this series up to "Magical Mystery Tour" have the purple Capitol label. The remaining titles are on Apple.
Each copy has a black "Limited Edition" sticker on the shrink-wrap.
These pressings make a total of 3 variations for each UK title (up to Revolver) that Capitol issued 1987-95.
For variation #3:
-Catalog # revised to C1 0777 7 46435 1 1, seen on spine, bottom lower back by the Apple logo, and on labels.
-Purple Capitol label design with the Parlophone logo on the left side of label above the “1” and “2” and Apple logo on the right.
-Capitol oval and Apple logos along the bottom back
-UPC on the back is more rectangular shape
-Most pressings came with black “Limited Edition” hype sticker on the shrink-wrap with a corresponding catalog number. (see photo)
For variation #1 (1987): The Beatles - Please Please Me
For variation #2 (1988): The Beatles - Please Please Me

This is proof that digital remasters don't always mean inferior sound. This record sounds powerful as hell, and with the except somewhat of the title track, every track sounds dynamic and loud as it needs to be. These pressings are much easier to find than other mono pressings, and with the quality abound here, it's definitely not a bad option in the slightest

What a fantastic record. Although this is digitally sourced, it sounds just as authentic as the analogue records. Although the CD was known for being too bright with not enough bass or mids, the vinyl cut from the same source sounds warm on my system, with a clarity of Paul’s bass that is rich. Wally was truely such a master at his craft, I have another C1 reissue (rubber soul) and I can confirm that it too sounds very nice. These pressings are definitely worth it if you see one.

Edited one year agoFound this sealed at a flea market in almost perfect shape with the hype sticker for $30. Beyond a steal. I don’t have any other mono pressings to compare this to, but it sounds great to my ears.

Does anyone know if these were pressed with DMM? There is nothing on the sleeve or the record itself to indicate that but i know that many of the other records from the limited 90s run are.

This is my first review, I hope I'm doing this right. I bought Please Please in 1987 when the first CD's were released. I worked in a music store and was watching vinyl being phased out. I decided it was a wise move to buy this on vinyl then as a collectable item. I thinking it was horrible sound quality. I have the CD of the 87 Mono mix and I realized it's not the album's fault it's just that I don't like the mono mixes of the Beatles. Call me sacrilegious but to me mono sounds flat. I am still hoping for Apple to do new stereo mixes with vocal centering. I know that last comment just made many Beatle fans turn on me,sorry. I love the Yellow Sub Songtrack and the Love album b/c they are stereo remixed and I want to hear it all that way.
