Notes
Gatefold cover.
Part of Capitol's 1995 Limited Edition re-issue series of the band's UK albums, using the same catalog numbers as the late 80's vinyl and CDs that were still on the market at the time, but adding the "C1" prefix. These and the earlier vinyl variations used the same digital master as the CD.
All albums in this series up to "Magical Mystery Tour" have the purple Capitol label. The remaining titles are on Apple.
Each copy has a black "Limited Edition" sticker on the shrink-wrap.
These pressings make a total of 3 variations for each UK title (up to Revolver) that Capitol issued 1987-95.
For variation #3, this pressing:
-Catalog # revised to C1 0777 7 46438 1 8, seen on spine, bottom lower back by the logos, and on labels.
-Purple Capitol label design with the Parlophone logo on the left side of label above the “1” and “2” and Apple logo on the right.
-Capitol oval, Parlophone and Apple logos along the lower left back
-Most pressings came with black “Limited Edition” hype sticker on the shrink-wrap with a corresponding catalog number. (see photo)
For variation #1 (1987): Beatles For Sale
For variation #2 (1988): Beatles For Sale

Edited 2 years agoim hesitant to get a copy of this pressing as i used to have a copy of "Rubber Soul" from this year/series, and that was awful. it sounded like hollow screechy garbage, and it had a pressing flaw that destroyed about 10 seconds of one of the tracks on the B-side.
how does this sound in comparison to some other earlier Mono pressings? i have no interest in other, "modern" remasters done digitally. -
My copy sounds excellent superb, but it is a gatefold and here it doesn't say anything about been a gatefold. Does anyone else have this with a gatefold cover?
