Edited one year agoAn excellent release from the continuously evolving Miles Davis Quintet. Here, Shorter, Hancock, Carter, and Williams are in place for what will be the masterpiece of this team, "Miles Smiles", 2 years later. By contrast, this record is a bit more mellow, with a concentration on communication and overall vibe. Highlights are "R.J." and "ESP".
Recording is good, not much to say. Pressing is decent. 3.5 stars. Recommended. -
With some quite long running sides this album is mostly cut very quiet. Find yourself a clean copy and play it loud or else the horns will be tiny and the drums off at Mars
