side C is a bit noisy and suffers from inner grove distortion on the last minute or so. the music sounds good though.

Spindle holes too tight. Otherwise decent pressing.
Recording and mastering quality is only average. There is too much emphasis on the bass guitar, but the bass is muddy and not well defined. Yes, the sound is massive, but it's not detailed and the dynamics are lacking. The cymbals are not shimmering, the guitar sound is not piercing where it should be.
The Southern Lord early presses of Om's "Pilgrimage" mastered by Steve Albini is how this music should sound in my opinion. -
Edited 2 years agoI purchased this on cassette first. Amazing sound.
Vinyl is impressive as well.
If you enjoy High on Fire this is a bit more melodic.
Enjoy. -
Excellent pressing. Not a click or pop to be found. A smoke thick sounding record! Man, the bass on this record is amazing. An excellent example of how good vinyl can sound.

I have this vinyl but without disc 2. I have twice the disc 1. Has anyone twice the disc 2? To make an exchange

I have two copies of this now. The first I purchased online upon it's release on 4.20.18 from Third Man Records. Even though it's been well-played, it came out of the sleeves with some pops and the occasional crackle. As such I bought a second copy which now has a hype sticker on the shrink-wrap over the front cover(The first release didn't). This second copy is super clean without pops or any crackle. Fantastic listening. Very happy with this new copy also purchased online from Third Man.
