Have spent a long time trying to re-eq this to get it sounding better - the drums have absolutely no "vibe" whatsoever, the beats are terrible bog standard presets. The rest of the music is as good as it always was...Only for the completionists!

5 stars!!!! Great mixes!! Sometimes too much „bass“ but finally great ‚new‘ remixes of the oldschool The Cure classics!!!! -
i honestly think most mixes on here are total rubbish... I would advise anyone thinking of getting this to give it a solid listen first

Sound quality is fairly good considering the picture disc, the inner sleeves are nice too, all made of slightly thick plastic. Other than that, the remixes are not extremely interesting imho, i expected a bit more after sampling one track, i got sold so quick when i saw there was some 'new' the cure material. It's not bad nor awful by any means, just not bold enough for my tastes, still fairly enjoyable. would probably give it 4.5 stars all in all but it's not possible.

Great stuff in here. Was very excited to get something new(ish) from The Cure and this release certainly does not disappoint. I've enjoyed every song but Drowning Man is exquisite. Now, the sad part, didn't get any voucher, was that only available in the Europe version?

Fascinating remix album from the artist himself framing the songs from a new perspective. Really enjoyed it. Maybe some could be considered safe, but Smith obviously wants to cater to his audience and not give them something that makes no sense or doesn't ring true to his art. Worthy purchase! -
I must be the only one who found these remixes uninspired with only a couple exceptions (deep green sea being one of them). I found the whole affair far too safe- I guess I want some chaos in my remixes. Still, I’m glad I got mine at an actual record store and deprived a flipper of a sale!

notquitefaust has got it exactly right: "Not bad for a pic disc too."
Who wants "not bad"? If I buy a record I want a great sound recording (usually). I'll buy coloured vinyl and marbled. But picture discs don't do it for me. That constant background 'airy' interference you get with picture discs puts them strictly in the novelty category.
And the tedious moaning has already started! About sellers hiking up prices and 'depriving' poor buyers of having their bit of plastic. It's still out there at £35 - buy it now rather than moan. But why do you even want it?
I have one picture disc I really like - Blondie Parallel Lines, because the album artwork justifies it. But I accept it for what it is - a bit of novelty plastic. I truly don't play it as it is not worth wearing down the stylus for such noise.
For Cure's Torn Down I want to buy it with properly considered sound value - and I'm so lookiing forward to listening to it properly. There is no way I would listen to it on picture disc first. I am surprised Cure have made the considered decision to release this in picture format first. This remix project has been in the making for years. Still: gotta respect the artists' decisions . . .
