One of my favourite albums of all time. To me, this one and Led Zeppelin II are a diptych that represents the core of the band.
After 3 months collecting records and paying attention to differences in between presses, I put this one and felt to me a little dry, a little "flat". Although the instruments clearness is good, I don't FEEL the dynamics on the key moments as, for example on Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin, which a friend of mine has. On that 76-79 UK pressing the record has something that feels surprisingly alive. This edition I'm commenting here, to me it lacks that liveness or rawness, which are the important quality of listening to music on vinyl. Sounds good, but doesn't feel that much analog. -
Pressing sounds great and quiet. One of my favorite albums to blast through the house on a weekend morning. But it's frustrating they put the hype sticker directly on the sleeve instead of the wrap. Guess it was needed on this (and the II/III/IV remasters by JP) since it had the barcode.

Just like Livewire91 said, the sound is phenomenal. The record is nicely packaged (one of the best in my collection) and for just 15 € (approx) it is a steal. Love it

Edited 5 years agoJust received mine mint and sealed from a record store. I haven't been able to listen to the record yet, but first impression: Sloppy production quality. The label on the B side has been put on twice and not even in the centre of the record, resulting in the second label to be wobbly (like wet paper) and only half glued to the record so it's sticking out. The vinyl is very dusty on both sides, too. I hope the record will at least sound good; I'll update this comment once I got a chance to listen to it.
Update: Cleaned the record before playing it. Sounds great, very quiet. I guess this is the most important thing, so no regrets overall. -
Edited 2 years agoSounds fantastic. Pressing is quiet and the sound quality is great. I mean come on i paid 16€ for this :)
I made a needledrop of one of the tracks from this vinyl record - You can find it on the right side in the videos - Under the name:
