Great music that sounds good on decent pressing. Slight warp on my copy, but fortunately, it doesn’t affect playback.

Oh my, the copy I have plays clean. Maybe a bit light on treble but that makes it very smooth and easy to listen to quite loudly if you like to.

Agree with the bit muddy assessment...but I think that's just how this was meant to be heard. It was mastered pretty loud imo. No complaints. As for the music, it's fire. Some of NIN's best work in a while. Wish they expanded this into a full length LP. There were some great grooves that could have been taken further I feel. The other two EPs in the trilogy didn't really do it for me but this one was great.

Looks great, sounds great! Loads of detail on here, so it’s pressed a bit quietly on purpose, so turn it up and it will really come to life!

Did anyone else receive a copy that is NOT in a poly-lined inner sleeve? All other releases that I received directly from the NIN were in lined sleeves, and, frankly, in much better condition.

It is good to point out that this record has been mastered with loudness war in mind, in the sense that yes, it is very loud indeed. I would say the best example is "Less Than", which is a brickwall. It just happens that other songs are much quieter, but still loud. The only NIN album that is not loud is "Pretty Hate Machine". "Hesitation Marks" is something more like an attempt to be loud but still maintaining a not too loud record for audiophiles. Please don't mislead people to think this is not loud or audiophile material.

The sound is a little muddy at points which is unfortunate

The reason most layered electronic music is mastered at a low volume is so you can really crank the volume, in doing so, it doesn't necessarily mean the music becomes louder, rather more details are revealed. With dense music like this, if your system permits, a whole new world can be revealed when you turn it up, just make sure your system is dialed in and this recording can be a real joy when turnt up.

I found it odd that the EP didn't come with a code (like other EPs/LP's of NIN).

Agreed! My copy sounds great, however I am glad the sound is on the softer side. Definitely worth adding to the NIN collection.
