Edited 2 months agoPerfect in every way. Dead quiet, flat as the earth🤣. Heavy bass! I once had the CD but this sounds much better. Don't hesitate, buy!

Since upgrading my cart from a 2M Blue to a Hana ML, I have to say my appreciation for the sonics on this album has grown. I would now categorize this as an audiophile pressing, whereas earlier, I thought this pressing lacked dynamics. Hard to now what I was hearing then. Dynamics are stellar. Oh yeah, and what an album! -
I found a cheap used copy and was expecting the worst but was pleasantly surprised. This pressing sounds as pulsing and hypnotic as ever with a minimum of surface noise. It's a marvel of vinyl engineering that they managed to fit so much music on each side without it sounding like a 'K-Tel 20 Greatest Disco Hits' record. All in all, a fantastic listening experience of a timeless feat of electronic pioneering. -
Sounds good to me. As others have said, not the quietest records, but just adds to the experience. Overall, warm, lush sounding with good separation and sound stage. Sounds great on headphones. Paid £20, so really happy. I don't personally like gatefold, would rather have single outer and nice printed inners, which this has.

Edited one year agoI grew up with the CD! My copy of this is stored on the shelf back to back with https://www.discogs.sitioby.com/release/119427-The-Orb-Perpetual-Dawn in the same outer sleeve. Perpetual Dawn (Solar Youth Mix) is the version I first heard on alternative radio, and Star 6 & 7 8 9 (Phase II) is the version I grew up with. All 3 vinyls together make up the complete thought of the album as I it.
This double LP also definitely sounds great. I'm hearing detail and nuance I'd never noticed before.

Must have gotten lucky. Wax is flat, quiet, and sounds on point. Was kind of apprehensive due to the 20min+ per side and expectations were low. As always, cleaned upon receiving, before initial spin and TT in tolerance. -
Pretty happy overall. Yeah some pops and crackles here and there but after a wash and some plays with antistat gun it’s good. Really cool album! Geeez the 90s were great. If you want silent play back try a CD -
9.5/10. Nothing to complain about in this pressing. No sonic defects at all on my copy. Classic album and a cornerstone of my collection. -0.5 due to minor room for improvement in dynamics.

Edited 2 years agoI had this on vinyl when it was originally released thirty odd years ago and to be honest this seems pretty much identical to it in every way, cover, labels, inner-sleeves, exactly as I . As for the sound of the vinyl, must of got lucky (judging by some of the other comments on here) no poppity-clicks, no debris, flat records, and the sounds coming out my speakers are phenominal. Such a ground-breaking and original album deserved a good re-issue, and am very happy with mine on every way.

Bought this brand new and the records were quite dirty. After giving them a good clean and placing them anti-static inner sleeves I can honestly say that I am very impressed 👍.
Both records sound tremendous and free of any mentionable background noises.
