Interpol – Turn On The Bright Lights

Great fucking album but I gotta say this pressing sounds muddy and the vocals are more buried compared to digital. I guess I'll try getting hold of the VMP version some day

Never seen an obi like this before - the photo on the back matches that on the back of the booklet, making it look like it was designed for collectors who wrap the obi round the booklet once they've opened the CD for the first time.

One of my best sounding vinyl ever. Carlos D's bass are clear and deep, properly mixed as it deserves

It sounds great, very powerful in the most lively songs and crystal clear in quiet moments.

This album is never going to sound like a 70s Japanese pressing, it’s just not possible.

With that said, this is the best version of this album by a considerable distance. The 2xLP alone allows for a lot more breathing space and sound stage. I wish I had been able to listen to this album like this for the last 22 years, but new beginnings, new life breathed into it. This will be how I hear this album for the rest of my life.

It kills me to say this, as this is an all-timer for me, but this is almost unlistenable on vinyl with a good pair of cans. The mix is so hot and compressed due to the digital nature of the recording process, it just sounds wrong. Grating, even.

Pressing is quiet and no issues to speak of. The vocals have always been buried in the mix on this album. Perhaps a remaster would benefit it. Side B does sound a bit better over side A. They could have included a lyric sheet with this, but otherwise it’s a good pressing with an average mastering. I just switch on the loudness feature on my amp and it makes this album much more punchy and dynamic. Sometimes a little EQ’ing is necessary, nothing wrong with that.

Shockingly good. Sounds so dynamic. Obviously it was a great decision to issue a double lp version with great mastering.

out of the availible options, this is the best one to get. sounds super dynamic and is on the proper amount of 2 discs instead of crammed onto one.

Pretty average pressing overall that's not going to wow you. Side B oddly does have a punchier and fuller sound than side A. Ordered the VMP version because I've read such good reviews on it.
