The Who – Odds & Sods

I’ve always thought the original US release of this album was one of the best sounding Who albums, until hearing this original UK release which sounds better to my ears.

This sounds excellent! Looks great too. Not sure what the other complaints are about in other reviews, but I'm really happy with my copy.

If you want the extras, then go for it. If not, find a 1974 OEM or one of the 1988 Savers copies.

This reproduction with it's extras is nice to have, but some of it sounds like it was run-through to make a deadline.

Phenomenal original US pressing. Well worth picking up especially to avoid the overpriced resellers of the subsequent reissues

Always enjoyed ODDS & SODS, Entwistle picked out a solid batch of tunes and Townshend's liner notes are amusing and sarcastic. The original vinyl release is sequenced very well, although "I'm The Face" sticks out a bit from the crowd due to its earlier vintage. This pressing sounds impressive, with explosive bass and drums and clear, crisp vocals and guitars. My copy is in really nice shape, it's very quiet with no noticeable surface noise.

The side 2 label on my copy shows "Track Record" and "MCA Records" as well as the copyright information on the edge, but has no track listing at all.

It was a long wait for this to be released on new vinyl… and great though it is, I think some of the b-sides on disc 2 could have been replaced with’My Way’ ‘Melancholia’ ‘Fortune Teller’ & ‘Time is ing’ … what’s needed, is a reissue of the rarities on vinyl to accommodate the single tracks.
That said, fantastic album to have in my growing Who collection.

My UK re-press included the poster. I find it fascinating that these were Townshend’s unreleased discards (?!), thank the gods that Entwistle pulled them out of the dustbin. Brilliant B-sides, the lot of ‘em.

Shouldn’t this album be listed as a compilation ? Seeing as there are songs on it from 1965 - 1974?

this is a very nice brazil edition of this amazing compilation originally released back in 1974, i just scored a nm copy today!!!! the sleeve is laminated & very shiny for a brazil pressing & the label is the same as the black uk track label was but this was pressed in BRAZIL!!!! very nice!!!!
