I’m pretty sure this is the first record MoFi ever used DSD on. I’ve checked a bunch of releases before this and they are all AAA, and the ones after are digital. -

Could just be my copy, but some tracks sound better than others. Let’s Get It On sounds pristine, If I Should Die Tonight is at the other end of the scale and sounds really muffled and flat, most other tracks falling somewhere between. A great album but not the best pressing. -
My copy sounds fantastic—no noise at all: clean, dynamic, and flat. The bonus record is truly a plus, a gem for Marvin lovers.

Edited 3 months agoThe multichannel mix on this is absolutely incredible. This mix is so so so much better than the original stereo mix it made me go and find out how to rip SACDs so I can take the mix on this with me on my phone downmixed to stereo. This mix makes this one of the best sounding recordings I've ever heard and shows just how much information was on those master tapes. Buy it NOW. I believe the same mix is on the DVD-Audio and other SACD versions. It sounds like they revived Marvin Gaye and had him rerecord it on the best equipment with the best engineers.

Edited 3 months agoPretty dang solid pressing. Dynamics/EQ/channel separation are all on point. Nice and loud! Was surprised at how loud it was. Literally have my EQ set at its baseline and didn’t have to touch it. Nice warm mix. Punch lows. Crisp, bright highs. Beautiful packaging.
My only gripes are the gosh dang paper sleeve and there’s a bit of noise/static in side B on the last track. The sleeve is the full cardstock paper sleeves with no holes. I hate these things. But that’s my only complaint. Still a suuuuper solid pressing -
AMAZING, full of rich highs and lows. You can hear the clarity in Marvin’s voice and the accompanying instruments and vocalists.
This on vinyl is the way it was meant to be heard! Evokes so much emotion!
Setup: Fosi Audio Preamp 6J1 tube amps, Toshiba SR-230 turntable, Empire cartridge and needle, Google home max speakers. -

Very nice copy. The record sounds great, like all the De Agostini products. -

Pressing uses the same plates as the 45th RSD edition. This pressing absolutely sensational, and sounds phenomenal. Unfortunately there’s no mastering details to add to the review, but rest assured it’s probably the best you’ll ever hear. Pressings very clean, and unusually good for GZ Media. Artwork is cheap and flimsy, but ultimately, it’s all about the music. -
Yikes, I’m not sure how good the original sounds, but there is a lot of sibilance on this recording, and it hasn’t been contained in the remaster. Vox levels are hot and border on distortion at varying points. Pretty disappointed with this MOFI release.
