Edited 26 days agoThis boxset sounds absolutely incredible. There are so many fine details, while keeping the energy and punch of Zeppelin. The mix sounds perfect to my ears, these are cut hot with a very immersive soundstage, highly recommend.

I like this bmg version better as my set came with a black plastic insert that holds disc cases tight instead of the foam the other ones have. The foam breaks down, makes a mess, gets in the cds and booklet.

The drums really suffer on this vinyl collection. Their sound varies from track to track. On “Thank You” the drums sound like a club on a hollow log. On other tracks there is marginal improvement. If one has heard any of the original pressings of the first 4 albums, JB’s drums are crisp and defined. Aside from the poor sounding drums, the guitar and vocals really benefit from the digital transfer here. This collection is not AAA. The liner notes clearly state “digital transfer”. If one is an analog purist, avoid. If one isn’t super particular, this could be a nice addition to the collection. There are 6 LP’s and they spin flat and true. Groove floor is relatively quiet for the 1990 vinyl reissue technology. If this can be found at a decent price, it’s a great introductory collection for the new or casual Led Zeppelin enthusiast.

this is not a useful entry. How does this issue differ from the other releases. No images are offered, other than the front side cover, which is identical, apparently, in all cd versions. The "Notes" section merely rehashes what's on 26 other examples. Where "Barcodes and Identifiers" usually is found, is...nothing. Moreover, it's recorded as a club edition, but no indicators are given for that status nodistinguishing marks, tattoos anything ...Maybeit's me 'cos 95 people found it fitted their copy enough to declare "have" and at least a few sales
(88 cents? really?). What am I missing? -
I have had this since the 1990s and agree with other reviewers. This is a fantastic selection of songs and the mastering and audio quality on the CDs is absolutely incredible. It is probably among the most listened pieces in my collection. Even if I'm fatigued of Led Zeppelin I still pull it out every once in a while and it blows me away.

I have this set and the US vinyl set. Essentially it’s essentially essential! It’s a pity the 1993 2CD set wasn’t pressed on vinyl too.

Hot cut!! These records are DMM cut and really pop. Better sound than any of the recent masters including the super deluxe series.

I used to own the 4cd set. had to save for months as i was just a student then. was very pleased with the set. until i heard the at/gp LP pressing of led zep 1 and compared babe im gonna leave you. since then ive sold them CDs and play the japanese original LPs. super curious how this 4 LP set compares

Edited 3 months agoBe careful with the disintegrating foam in the box which sticks to all surfaces like glue.
