I have had this since the 1990s and agree with other reviewers. This is a fantastic selection of songs and the mastering and audio quality on the CDs is absolutely incredible. It is probably among the most listened pieces in my collection. Even if I'm fatigued of Led Zeppelin I still pull it out every once in a while and it blows me away.

Back in the day I read that many complained about the mastering of this set and that's why the released a 2 CD version that might have been mastered differently. Not sure if that was true. I have had this since the 90's and to me this was/is all the Zeppelin I have ever needed. I own some LPs and a few CDs but I always come back to this collection as the definitive collection.

Edited 19 years agoQuite simply, this could very well be the most popular and best-selling CD boxed set in America. Why? Probably because this quartet has been permanently Superglued to the playlist of every AOR and classic rock radio station in the U.S. since they were first heard here in 1969. This also ushered in a whole lotta other boxed sets from rock gods and goddesses. And those tracks that Zep did that weren't found on this collection got their own release a few years after this was first released. Everyone's got their favorite Zep song, like Elvis, the Beatles, and The Stones; just don't ask me since it changes a lot. Call them whatever you want to - they sure were something.
