The Zombies – Odessey And Oracle

I always thought this was a nice album but wasn’t in love with it the same way many are, I wanted a copy but wanted to find a copy in person because it wasn’t something I was desperate to own, however now hearing it on vinyl has really made me get why this album is as beloved as it is.

As for the pressing itself, I have no other copies to compare it to, and I have heard of others experiencing issues with the record itself, but my personal copy sounds very nice and plays accurately. The sleeve art to my knowledge looks accurate to the original and although it is thick and a nice material, it’s not quite as thick or sturdy as Guerrsen sleeves

Overall based on my experience, this is a nice reissue.

This is as close as I've been able to find to my copy. Mine has "o XSM137384-1C" on side 2 instead of "1F".

There is also a letter on side 1 that could be a "D" that didn't fully stamp, a "C" that looks like a "D" with the middle of the right side removed, or even a mis-stamped "B". There appears to be a "1" next to it.

Ive had my copy for probably 25 yrs , bought used in near mint condition and it sounds great, definitely a buy although I have no other version for comparison. I sat on this til around 2020 for some reason but I then realized what a great album i had been sitting on Lol … better late than never

Sounds wonderfully clear with a very low noise floor, but doesn't have the three dimensional, holographic quality of the old analogue releases

Finally pulled the trigger on this and I’m happy to say it sounds great, much better than expected. Probably the best it’ll sound unless the Mono master is ever recovered.

Beautiful pressing, a little bit noisy though with a few moments of brief but noticeable distortion. Overall still listenable and a fantastic album.

I prefer the stereo version. The dynamics are great, very detailed, especially on time of the season. All round great album and sound.

just got this and sounds so good and super quiet, mono all the way

The album itself sound wonderful. Nice and crisp with plenty of low end. However, I feel like this was pressed on cheap vinyl as it's a bit noisy even after a cleaning. Not bad if you're looking for a good pressing at a fair price!
