Billy Preston – Get Back

My original copy was a Compo pressing and, with a nod to WeAreWinnipeg, it had the black Apple sleeve. However the RCA issues might have had white ones.

Issued on May 5, 1969. This was the first STEREO Beatles 45 issued in Canada. Almost all copies were pressed by Compo, but some rare copies were also printed by RCA with their usual smaller font size. The Compo pressings were issued in the white paper BEATLES ON APPLE sleeve. This is no earlier than June 1976 and no later than December 1977 but very likely 1976.

Dynamite sounding single, crunchy & punchy, with groovy stereo-mixes. Sounds great played LOUD...

1983 pressing of the 1969 single. Oddly, the album version of "Get Back" is used, rather than the original single version.. The B-side, "Don't Let Me Down", is a non-album track.
Record plays with almost no surface noise and no skips. Includes standard gray Capitol sleeve.

100% fake. Opened up the plastic wrapped around the picture sleeve to reveal that both sides had been glued on an Elvis Presley picture sleeve. And to be fair even that looked fake. Fake glued on Fake, can't get any worse

Had this in my collection for 5-6 years thinking I had something rare.

There is many other counterfeits out there too, if its wrapped in plastic and from countries such as Brazil, Chile etc, most likely not worth much

now the let it be very late box set is out this very sad and pointless version and release can sit on the shelf
this is McCartney's stressed out demanded MONO mix that he roped Glyn John's in to creating watched over and supervised by McCartney at Olympic studios. In the book with the box set (white cover) the term "improved" is used, not that McCartney was so hyped up on something and heard the Glyn Johns stereo acitate that had been sent to the BBC to play on MONO AM-MW radio where the signal waved/waffed/phased in and out over interference/static! UK EMI were ready to go with and wetre set up with the stereo mixes of both tracks that Glyn Johns had had cut at Abbey Road (originally the stereo mixing session of these tracks had been paid for byCapitol Inc....
The Glyn Johns stereo mixes came out in 4 territories USA, Canada, and Japan, everywhere else waited for their tapes from UK-EMI and not Capitol Inc.
The superior Glyn Johns stereo mixes are on Let It Be album with Phil Spector's over production and fake added ending to pretend it was live from the roof of Apple, as there were mastered on the Alan Klein supervised Hey Jude USA compilation album, The Double blue Alan Klein supervised compilation, 1967-1970, Rock'n'Roll Music compilation, 20 Greatist Hits compilation Pastmasters compilation and #1's (phew, none have the mono panic created by McCartney that Easter Sunday) and now Glyn Johns' stereo mix is on the included Get Back album in the box set!!!!

Very likely a fake.
Check the submitter (who also sells it), he added multiple dodgy and (some proven to be) fake acetates to the database, and has managed to sell some for high prices.

The description and timing above (false start, 2:40) indicate that the version here is most likely the one from 23 January 1969 (DDSI 23.78 / 23.79), mixed by Glyn Johns on January 24-25 (master reel no. E69738 Z) for his first "Get Back" compilation, for which LP (!) acetates were cut for reference 28-29 January 1969, and this take of "Get Back" was subsequently dropped from the compilation.
(A dub from one of these LP acetates was used to produce the first Beatles bootleg LP "Kum Back".)

According to Mark Lewinsohn, since the first 7" acetates of the song were cut (on 26 March and 7 April 1969), all contained mixes of the take used for the single version (recorded 27 January), so this one here doesn't make sense at all.

(All of this said, the label also looks pretty clean & new for an authentic 1969 acetate.)

This is a forgery, you should not buy, you should look at the writing, it has spelling errors, which in Chile is not accepted, do not be fooled, I have been a collector for more than 50 years and those titles do not exist here in my country, Chile.
