i bought a reissue of this record in the late 70's. it came with the picture sleeve . it was on the capitol swirl label. best of all
paperback writer is in stereo.at the same time i bought we can work it out with picture sleeve and swirl label and promo copy
of penny lane with yellowish green label and picture sleeve.they could be counterfeits but the sound quality is fantastic. i can not
find any information on reissues with picture sleeves from this period. can anyone shed any light on this?. -
As for "Rain" being "relegated to a B side... When I was a much younger lad, my friends and I played both sides of Beatles singles that we could dig up in the mid '70s.. and, yes, a few of them were a bit "slower" or not as "rockin'" as the A side.. (songs like "Ask Me Why", "This Boy", and "Yes It Is" come to mind).. but many times, the B side rocked as much as the A side!

The B-side, "Rain", is one of the first recordings in the history of popular music to contain some vocals in reverse, it is at the end of the song.
When reversed, you'll hear: "the sun shines. Raaain. When the rain comes, they run and hide their heads."
