Chic – C'est Chic

The first record I ever bought. Will forever have a place in my heart. Still use it from time to time as a demonstrator for my audio equipment!

This album has always had a good sound, but this version is nice to listen to simply because, in my opinion, you finally have a version that isn't played out, that doesn't crackle, or have any flea market issues. Now you can finally listen to it in peace and bop along.

As usual, the PR pressing falls short compared to basically any other pressing, an overabundance of noise on quieter, slower songs, and like the guy below said, it definitely sounds quite muddy in a lot of parts. Get the MO press instead.

This is probably my favorite album of all time, every song on here is a nearly flawless song, get a NM copy to enjoy it in all of its perfection. Enough said, Nile Rodgers is a frickin genius.

This press is amazing!... Comparing somé songs in with original pressing (Les Grands Suces) I feel this one fill the hall better. No loops or scratches

This pressing is dynamic, wide and lively! Tons of low bass and high vocal range, as expected with this disco classic. Turn. It. Up!

Great album. Great band. Totally recommend getting this album if you don’t already have it. Nile Rodger’s played in New Zealand back in 2017. I saw him just earlier that year in Australia. Both shows were some of my favorite shows. Lionel Ritchie was on the bill too. Was absolutely outstanding.

Favorite song: Dance, Dance, Dance.

Solid pressing. The mix on this sounds muddy to me. Very little low end punch - more of a boom-box bass quality which isn't very pleasant. If looking for the ultimate Chic experiences it might be worth looking at later remasters if they exist. If it had the same mix as the later "Real People" it would be killer.

I just picked up a second hand copy of this. I haven’t had a chance to scan the releases, but when I turned it over, it has Willie Nelson on the B side!! Pretty sure it’s the second side of Willie and Family Live. Anyone heard of this happening?? I definitely have the Australian vinyl. I can see manufactured in Australia on the label. The weird thing is it sounds like whoever used to own it seemed to have listened to the Willie side more regularly because it’s in pretty bad shape!!
