Sam & Dave – Soul Men

I found one of those that matches the jacket and label and had the following matrices, similar to the '67 US Mono Promo:

Any information regarding the release date for this reissue ?

Absolutely essential soul/r&b album. I have the stax yellow label and it really sounds amazing. Great dynamics and separation. Tough to find a nm copy but its worth it if you like this music.

Incredibly funky soul album that's all-killer/no-filler, mastered with good clarity & some seriously thick bass. Sounds better the louder you play it. Heavyweight vinyl is dead-silent & flat as a pancake. Great bargain for the $8.50 it cost me

Saw this for $10 + free shipping on Ebay and was totally worth it. Sounded much better than I thought too for being so discounted.

My copy is flat, well-centered, and quiet. It sounds terrific, with nice, full bass. Part of the Stax 60 reissues – no info on whether it's mastered from analog (which probably means it's not), but it sounds great.

This cassette is falsely attributed as being a "Stax" issue, even though Stax is *nowhere* present on the tape. It is,, and says so, clearly, an Atlantic issue. Even though all pre-1968 releases were taken over by Atlantic after the sale to Warner, Sam and Dave were, in fact not even signed to Stax, but loaned to them to record there and allowed to issue under the Stax label while the distribution arrangement was in effect.
So, no tape now could ever have been issued with the Stax imprint *anywhere*. Period
