Notes
"Let It Be" is the 12th and final studio album by the British rock group The Beatles. It was released in the UK on 8 May 1970, almost a month after the group's break-up, in tandem with the motion picture of the same name. It was initially released as a box set, with a 168-page book titled "Get Back", containing stills and dialogue from the film. The back sleeve has a red Apple logo, but the labels have the green Apple logo. The package retailed at £2 19s 11d, one pound more than the normal selling price of an album. On 6 November 1970 it was withdrawn and replaced by a conventional album release.
"Let It Be" had its US release on 18 May 1970 by United Artists Records under catalog number AR 34001 with a red Apple label, a gatefold sleeve and a $6.98 list price. More than 3.7 million advance orders had been placed, which at the time was the highest for any album in the history of the US recording industry.
The film "Let It Be" had its world premiere in New York City on 13 May 1970. On 20 May, UK premieres were held at Liverpool’s Gaumont Cinema and the London Pavilion. None of The Beatles attended any of the events.
In the USA, when Capitol Records purchased the United Artists record label in 1978, it issued the album on the Capitol label in a standard non-gatefold sleeve to further reduce costs, but included a color poster and photo inner sleeve.
On 6 Nov 1976, Billboard magazine reported that almost a half-million overstocked copies of "Let It Be" were purchased by Surplus Record & Tape Distributors in New Jersey of which 190,000 were from United Artists and 300,000 were from Capitol records. They were shipped to dealers across the USA to be sold.
The first CD release was on 19 Nov 1987 as catalog number CDP 7 46447 2. On the same day, HMV released a special 12" box set with CD, badge, booklet and photos in a limited edition of 10,000 units as catalog number BEA CD 25/8.
On 09/09/09 (Number Nine, Number Nine, Number Nine) the album was re-released as part of the Beatles "In Stereo Remasters" collection.
A new mix of the album made by Sam OKell was released on October, 15, 2021, in several formats.
On May, 8, 2024 the film Let It Be, this time restored by director Peter Jackson (8), was re-released.

Flat, quiet, but still a GZ press. IGD on tracks such as Let It Be, Maggie Mae, Long And Winding Road, Get Back, and I Me Mine. Baffled how the sound quality drops by track 4, it’s not even like the inner grooves

One of the worst sounding records ive listened to i mean it starts good two of us to across the universe sounds good enough but when it hits let it be ughh it sounds so distorted and not to mention long and winding road sounding like garbage and it being super distorted dont buy this just listen to this mix digitally it sounds great digitally

This was aways my least favorite later era Beatles album. I only knew the US version and it sounded... flat. I figured they all sounded that way. After reading about Harry Moss and the somewhat endless sonic differences between pressings and cuttings etc across all Beatles albums particularly I sought out either the 2u/2u or this 3u/2u and wasn't I surprised! It's so much clearer and dynamic than the US version. It'll never be a favorite but at least it sounds good now!

Great pressing, very impressive sound, very recommended. Detailled, the best I have heard. -
MG 20252, I recently bought this album with white jacket and rubber stamped Let It Be. The Stamp is at an angle as if random and the blang white album labels are simply marked 1 and 2 with a black marker. The only indentifier is where the albun is inscribed ai lead out grooves. It is pristene and confused about it's origin date and value. It appears to be unique.
