Pubblicato senza autorizzazione dei titolari dei diritti, questo LP documenta una storica esibizione dei Soft Machine alla Royal Albert Hall di Londra, avvenuta il 13 agosto del 1970: Robert Wyatt (voce e batteria), Elton Dean (sax alto e saxello), Hugh Hopper (contrabbasso) e Mike Ratledge (tastiere), che poco piu' di due mesi prima avevano pubblicato il fondamentale 'Third', sono protagonisti di una spiritata performance che include 'Facelift' (proprio da 'Third'), la outtake 'Out-Bloody Rageous' e la suite 'Esther's Nosejob' (in una versione aggiornata e diversa rispetto a quella apparsa su 'Volume Two') -
From what I've been able to gather, this is just a complete copy of the 1988 "Live At The Proms LP". As I've said before, this label has produced some great bootlegs of unreleased/unofficial material in the past, which (in my opinion anyways) is what bootleg collecting is all about: gathering music by an artist that is otherwise unavailable in the official market. Repackages like this are so disappointing because there are quite a few good quality unofficial soft machine tapes out there that haven't been released yet and it would have been much better to see one of them released by this label than a cheap imitation of a previously released album.
