Weather Report – Sweetnighter

my vote for best weather report record. this thing grooves. Has a kraut-rock feel to it. This press also sounds spectacular. what a gem.

This pressing mirrors the other 1973 US firsts: amazing dynamics, depth, width, clarity, sparkle and low end. Fusion at its finest. To not play it loud is an unforgivable sin.

My copy is no. 0196. The record comes in a laminated cover. The pressing is very good, no surface noise or pops, and the sound is dynamic, certainly suitable for turning it up loud and grooving to.

I have the 2021 issue and i bought this for a backup as the 2021 is superb alround.

The only difference is the vinyl colour. While the red with some black marbling looks quite cool the 2021 looks better and makes far more sense in mimicking the cover art. The choice of colour here is just odd!

IMO an excellent release. 5 stars for all categories...sound, pressing quality, music.

I normally don't like coloured vinyl, but this pressing is fabulous! Great wide stereo sound with a dynamic sound stage and quiet as heaven, no background noise. Very well done reissue!

Fantastic pressing. No noise on my copy and the dynamics are awesone.

Can only second the below review.... nice glossy sleeve, not numbered on the sleeve but numbered on the hype sticker instead. Pressing is flat and quiet and the recording sounds good. Oh and yes it looks fantastic too! Certainly my copy appears to alot more marbled than the picture here with more of the darker blue swirls within.

i wouldve put a different colour label as red doesnt look the best with the blue / white but im just nitpicking ... the album sounds amazing , well done music on vinyl for re releasing stuff like this
