Since most of what's up here seems to be for sale by people who didn't bother to listen to the release, let me be the first one to offer a review of what this actually sounds like. I'm a pretty serious fan of the band, saw them about 150 times between 1988-1995 and have all the LPs in original form along with hundreds of live recordings. This is the only repress I own. Yes, it is VERY EXPENSIVE. If that offends you, don't buy it. But don't piss in my Cheerios, especially if you've never heard it. If you can somehow afford it and are curious, the care and attention to detail put into this pressing are evident on every level. I did a side by side with my green label WB first press OG and they sound remarkably different. Both great, but with the Electric Recording Co version the lack of compression and EQ is quite audible. To my ears it sounds open, snappy, angular and just more overall LIVE than the original. Yes, I know there are overdubs. It manages to be peppy without being strident or harsh and has beautiful balance between instruments, unlike most modern repressings. The vocals are less present (but still sound smooth and fantastic), and there's more band in the mix, which I like.

The good news is that it's hard to go wrong with a Grateful Dead record in of pressing and sound quality, so you can spend far less and get a great version. This was my first foray into the tony real estate occupied by Electric Recording Co pressings, and I am very impressed and would buy another when something I feel strongly enough about to spend this much money comes along again.

      Muchas Garcias!

I actually thinks this one tops the one in the vmp box, if only slightly.

Ordered mine from dead.net when it came out and it’s missing Lp # 2, but there’s 2 copies of Lp #3. Totally bummed, cause I got this as a gift for my daughter whose favorite song (“Rambling Rose”) is in the missing LP # 2.

Sounds great though, nice looking vinyl, but jacket could’ve been a bit more crisp as far as graphics go. I can look past that, but missing a disc is a real downer, man.

Don’t have an original to compare but mine sounds a bit “thin”

              Pressing and packaging is good

Is this just a repress of the earlier (2011, I believe) CB RTI cut?

TOTALLY doesn’t sound like a live album at all!

Very cool album, absolutely recommend picking up!

John Fogerty once said that The Grateful Fead ruined Creedence's set at Woodstock by putting the audience to sleep and going on for far too long. I believe him. This double CD drones on... too much to handle in one go... Now, don't get me wrong, I love The Dead... LOVE 'EM.. and this is a great set until the end part. "Truckin'" is a top version but it goes on forever, and halfway through is kind of where the trouble starts. The soft free-jazz doodling of "Epilogue" and "Prelude" followed by a slower than snail's pace "Morning Dew" put me to sleep faster than a double dose of AMBIEN... but most of this set is brilliant. The bonus tracks are fine if you can stay awake long enough to listen to them. I recommend buying the vinyl and listening to it in "chapters" as it were.. one side at a time... might be the way to go. I dunno... just a thought.
