Still one of my go to albums from Mr Cloudy. Inventive, still jaw dropping, timeless. My all Zanden audio system makes it as magical as Mr cloudy intended. I am sure.

Warped, and very strange sounding dub techno...I have always found this album particularly dark and menacing!! I absolutely love this album as its so far away from the mainstream dub tec sound.
I accidentally snapped one of these discs taking it out the case so there are actually only 199 copies remaining =(

Finally, a Dub Techno album that can get me off, repeatedly, after multiple listens. "Recluse" keeps my imagination alive no matter how many times I hear it. This is no small feat, for such a slow grooving, and minimalist sounding collection of tracks. I like Dub Techno, but I LOVE this album. A lot of Dub Techno albums after I've heard them a few times, begin to sound lifeless on repeat listening. Not all of them, but some do. This one however, is the absolute TRUTH. Listen and find out why.

Fans of Mr. Cloudy aka Sergey Barkalov usually know what to expect from this fella. And sometimes one may wonder how someone so prolific can still keep coming up with solid material. "Recluse" is Cloudy's FINEST HOUR in my opinion. This solid and lengthy piece of work is filled with extremely minimal reverberations and muted chord hesitations. Dub techno in its truest form. Some tracks on this album have a similar feel to Basic Channel's "Radiance" 12". Cold and lonely as the album cover suggests, be sure to add Mr. Cloudy's "Recluse" to your collection. Appropriately released on the consistently strong label ZeECc.

This is a trip to heaven. Minimal, dubby and very hypnotic.
My favorite tracks are Sharp Form, Sedative and Lonely.
For all the people who like minimal Dub Techno, this is it.
