Edited 3 years agoI think I have listened to Enchanted more than any other echospace track. And I've listened to them a lot.
I back in uni when I lived in a dorm I used to cuddle deep under blankets to isolate myself from the chaos of both within&without, and imagine myself sitting alone on a shore, just watching the waves come and go, with the raindrops gently massaging ocean's surface & my body. -
This might be my favorite project from Stephen Hitchell. The cv313 stuff is pretty astounding also. This is even more chill than Intrusion, with an ambient sound throughout. Enjoyable from start to finish.

I couldn't disagree more with the post below, the remastered version sounds light years better in my opinion. I will say there's a lot more noise than the original which some may consider a fault but I actually appreciate it, all of the field recordings that were once barely audible are now dominant. The details and textures from the synthesizers are more upfront and swoosh around the room sort of similar to the effect they used on The Coldest Season, it's surreal. The real magic to my ears is in the sonic mind massage of Enchanted and A Silent Storm, played on my surround sound system they've never sounded so good. There are real haunting elements and the low end is actually present on these recordings which if a/b them to the originals there's virtually no low end present. My only real complaint was in the fact the digital bonus live version of "Enchanted" wasn't included on the CD as it was even better than the original in my honest opinion. I personally think they did a great job bringing an old recording into a new light, listen on a low volume before bed, it's a magic carpet ride worth taking again and again.

This is still one of my favorite albums on Echospace, hard to believe it was released nearly 7 years ago and still sounds so fresh and new. Would be nice to see this issued on vinyl one day.

Edited 7 years agojust a couple of words about an album which I hold close to my heart and happen to be listening to right now.
well, it's pure magic.
it helps me distinguish what I really need and love in my life from what is unnecessary; it's a perfect lullaby for a restless mind; its 'static' and serene sonic perfection refreshes me somehow, pushes towards self-realization and inspires me every time.
"Enchanted" is an absolute favourite of mine. loop after loop, hours and hours were spent bathing the mind in these sounds. can music get more soothing than this, but at the same time radiate liveliness so intensely? I doubt that.
thank you Stephen and echospace from the bottom of my heart.
p.s. field recordings feel even more lively and intense in the recent remastered edition. thanks to Stephen's skills the word "remastering" has finally gotten its initial, and proud, sense.
p.p.s. in fact we've got "Enchanted" extended loop on our YT channel: goo.gl/6mW12P -
Edited 14 years agoNot quite as impressive as his Intrusion album but equally as effective, if not more. Deep melodic music with an atmosphere I haven't felt or heard in ages. The emotional content conveyed with this body of work takes synthesizers and field recordings to their absolute sonic threshold. This may send shivers down your spine so be prepared, this is a truly captivating listening experience especially in the right surround sound environment, it is very theatrical.
