Edited 3 years agoBeyond The Clouds [Reprised] Versions track 1 & 3 (never listen to track 2 as it doesn't match up with the others) is Pure Unadultered, Blissed Out Totally Out There Untouchable Soundscapes of The Holy Silver Surfer - specially the beatless #1. Forever, again and again. I play this at least once every week since 10 years.
another close encounter Beyond The Clouds is the vinyl edition's cv313 - Seconds To Forever - also delivered on a CDr on linked edition. I can confirm that the CDr's Beyond The Clouds (Reprise) is at 22:59.. DUBiously similar to Beyond The Clouds [Reprised] III (22:39) 20 more seconds unto Forever...
[RIP] Echospace [Detriment] - Beyond The Clouds is where I will always find you - no matter what sins you comit on Ether Earth. -

The 3rd Reprise will be always something special for me. Someday in October or November 2020 I looked up the "Dub Techno" tag on Discogs and saw the artist cv313 there. Then I thought "why not go on youtube and look out some stuff from them?" So I searched cv313 on youtube and clicked on the Top Video, I thought "23 Minutes are ya crazy man." and just listended through it. After 12 Minutes or so I almost started crying. This is until this day my most beautiful musical experience.

A crucial release if you're a follower of Deepchord/Echospace and company. They're countless as both an act and as a label and always manage to reach the furthest levels of development using only a few sounds smoothly massaging the mind. I would consider this project to be one of the best examples of the less is more theory practically conceived within this style of music. "Beyond The Clouds" is one of those songs, an exercise in insistent cycles and loop annihilations of the deepest end of the Detroit Techno spectrum applied to a deep dub throb. There's a clear focus within the songs here with a nod to the more ambient-leaning excursions of Basic Channel, bedding endlessly delayed stabs resembling some of the early works found in Tangerine Dream, analogic sequences controlled by soul and spirit. After about a month to sink into this I have a feeling 10 years from now this body of work will be referenced as a valuable and engaging lesson in minimal techno history.
