Peter Frampton – Frampton Comes Alive!

This copy looks like Masterdisk remastered and cut this vinyl version. Weird thing is this version has more commentary by Frampton between songs. I’ve met heard this at all
Can anyone shed some light on this pressing? It sounds well balanced and was cut by Scott Hull

I didn't realize this title was released on gold vinyl otherwise I would have pursued it long ago. I have the 4 Styx A&M Canadian titles but not the Frampton. Stumbled upon it used at an Indie shop in NY for a mere $15 and snatched it up. It's hard to tell condition on yellow vinyl but I took a chance and glad I did cause mine is clean as a whistle. Released in '86, nine years after the OG in '77, I'd say they sound the same to me which if you have an OG you know it's not bad but not spectacular either. You have to this was one of the first double live albums which we now know has become the #1 selling live album of all time then every band had to put one out. I bought some high quality headphones recently and find that to be my listening preference for this one. The crowd is "right there" with you and so is Peter and his guitar. Other instruments with the drums in particular are in the background a bit but that's just the way they miked back in 1977. Buy it if you find it cause this is actually an older colored vinyl from back in the day and not a newer one like every other album seems to be nowadays.

From the days when Limited Edition meant a whole different thing ;-)
I have a # 51554, i see the highest # for sale here as 82430.
Can anyone 'top' that number ;-)

About this version: it states 'remastered'. Who knows more about this, because the album artwork doesn't give that information.

Just purchased a beautifully clean OG yesterday at Amoeba Music. The catalogue # is A&M SP-3703, and the dead wax indicates that the lacquer was cut at The Mastering Lab, and pressed at Monarch. However, hand etched into the first side of both disk one and two, is the name Paul Meadows. I've searched endlessly for this variant, and to find who Paul Meadows is. It remains a mystery. Any help would be appreciated.

Despite the low resolutive cover, this issue excess in vinyl quality. The record was pressed by Victor Japan in translucent virgin vinyl as Mobile Fidelity did on late 70's / early 80's releases and features a cleaner and detailed sound than UK edition.

My copy of this pressing is near flawless sounding. So super strong and clear. You can tell care was taken to record this the best way possible with the technology available at the time. With that said you can hear some subtle differences from venue to venue. The obvious thing from the recreation of any music is the sound of the room is gonna be different from place to place. Nothing sounds bad.....except for my not favorite version of jumping jack flash. Hahaha. It has not aged well.

Recibì este vinilo en un estado lamentable ,imposible de reproducir por la cantidad de pops y clics ,fritura pura .Despues de varias limpiezas profundas pude escucharlo y debo decir que es un delicia como suena , buena dinámica bien equilibrado con bajos notorios y los agudos de las guitarras sin estridencias que molesten .La voz de Frampton bien presente al frente ,se escucha todo muy bien a pesar de ser un disco en Vivo .
El prensado es muy bueno ,se prensaban muy buenos discos en Argentina
