Editado hace 5 díasMy (new) record pops and clicks both sides, mostly at the beginning of the first tracks. When the instruments are fully playing, it becomes less distracting. I have wet cleaned the record three times. The record is also not flat, the cartridge moves up and down a bit. I have send the record back to the shop.

The good: It sounds gorgeous as others have mentioned.
The bad: Judging by the price point, there is way too much surface noise, tape hiss, pops, clicks, and distortions scattered both discs. It is a very well mastered album with a slew of technical problems. So for $170 (with S&H included) it is not worth it. I received a replacement copy a way back, but the problems persist sadly.
PS: The Bill Evans - Waltz For Debby 45 RPM UHQR is gorgeous by the way. -
I have the 2015 2LP 45RPM MOFI box set, I compared this pressing to that and this does a fantastic job replicating at least. Fantastic sound for a $20 press, if you want and even bigger upgrade that’s where it becomes more expensive. -
Editado hace 20 díasI got this for $50 ,, this is a truly wonderful sound. This was not mastered from the OG master tapes, it was remastered from a copy of the OG master tapes. The UHQR DOES use the OG master tapes.

Does anyone know if this is the same mastering as the 2013 RKS mono pressings?

Around 2017 you start seeing kr in the deadwax for mastering. These are the most likely the ones you will get if you buy new (online or record store). It’s actually a pretty nice mastering (probably digital) but the problem is the pressing. I’ve tried up to 6 copies from Amazon and still haven’t found a decent one. Either dishwarped or had pops or artifacts (non fill) or all of the above. About to give up and look for an older pressing.

about the music all is said. essentiell, a timeless classic masterpiece. beside taste it is one of the best 3 jazz records ever made. -
I love this album. In my opinion one of the great jazz albums of all time.
