Dylan might be my favorite artist of all time, so naturally picking favorite albums from him is tough. That said, even with his career now spanning 6 whole decades I find this to be comfortably in his top 5 greatest records he ever made. This original pressing does wonders for the sound of this album, it’s so dynamic, lush and full that I guarantee Oh Mercy will slide up a few places on your own list after hearing this press.

sound quality is phenomenal. daniel lanois production combined with dylan’s best set of tunes in a long time makes this his best of the 80’s!

Holy shit, what a fantastic pressing and perfect EQ. This sounds beautiful and warm, lush and loud, with nice thick bass. Dylan’s voice is sand and glue. Get this.

I just picked up a used copy of this at a local record store after listening to it for years on cd. It’s like I’ve never heard it before! The sound just opens up in a way I’ve never heard from this album. These OG pressings are still affordable (mine was nm for 30 bucks) and seem like a great investment.

Edited 3 years agoSuch a great Album. One of my Favourites from Dylan. Very well done pressing. Minimal noise with clearly defined mids and highs - no doubt attributed to the DMM (Direct Metal Mastering).https://www.analogplanet.com/content/dmm-or-lacquer-which-better

I <3 this album & i have it ... from 1989 this record play great, best quality. I highly recommend it*

This record is just strong to my ears. Great playing, great lyrics, great songs and great singing. There are cuts that pop like "Man in the Long Black Coat" however the strength of the record is the quality from track to track.

His best album since Infidels, and my favourite of the 80's. The song writing is the best since "Blood on the Tracks" and the production is good. The whole album has a nice flow to it and I think it's aged well. There are some great Out takes from these sessions later released on the "Tell Tale Signs" album, particularly the version of "Born in Time" which is far superior to that released on "Under the Red Sky".
