Looks like they've just repressed this. Looking to buy only one copy of this record - does it have to be the OG Apollo press or are there others?

Anyone has this with the same run out etchings but the main sleeve does not have the remastered 2006 in red letters at the front? I bought it I think around 2009-2010 from Sister Ray in Soho London, and I think at the time I could see lots of copies on the record shop windows in the area. It sounds good and loud.

This pressing, compared to others I own, has deeper bass but also some background pops on every tracks and the loudness is often too strong (just decreased it and the listening is more confortable). Each track has been equalized regarding other ones on the same way, so the whole album feels coherent and more dancefloor oriented. Therefore it's wrong to say that this pressing is the best sounding one as this kind of mastering can't please to anyone, especially if you're used to earliest copies (it's basically an ambiant album). This release is just another way to experience this amazing album. As the original recording of the album was probably "chaotic", leading to fluctuant qualities of masterings even among tracks themselves, I think it's very hard to find the perfect copy (which probably doesn't exist). This is why I've decided to keep different ones and suggest to every real fans of this album to do it too. "We are the music listeners, and we, are the dreamers" ;)

Hands down the best sounding release of this classic album. The mastering and pressing are A++++++++.

Ok, Just another R & S / Apollo repress like all the others...
That's what I was thinking at the time that this repress was released. I already got an original copy of this masterpiece on vinyl on Apollo. So, I didn't bother to get me a copy of this repress.

Recently a friend of my bought this repress and when it finally had arrived, we were quite supprised about the soundquality of the repress.
We compared it to the original press and trust me.....
Those people at R & S weren't kidding about the remastered part!
                It's just amazing!
The volume of the tracks is a bit louder due to the wider cutting of the masterplates.
The repress sounds so much better and brighter compared to the original released on Apollo!
After we had listened to the whole album, I had convinced myself to buy a copy of this repress.

So, If you don't care about owning an original, and you don't want to spend a lot of money on it, and you want an excellent sounding copy of Selected Ambient Works 85-92 on vinyl.....
Don't look any further, You've just hit the jackpot!!!

Update 12-12-2012: The prices of this edition are not the cheapest anymore. But it's still the best way to enjoy this album from vinyl.
