The lack of represses is a snapshot to the bigger picture of how R&S past artists and their music has been treated. The truth eventually will come out on the treatment of their artists...

CJ Bolland a british guy born in UK but moved to Belguim when he was 3 really was a main influence of the early Belguim techno scene 89 ish. The Project,Space 3001,Sonic Solution etc etc

Edited 4 years agoYou don't hear much from Sabine Maes these daze? Public Relation Eighty-Eight . I can see this court case, either way, will be a minefield of 'sound on sound' . . . Which way I am not sure ;) Subjectivity?

I wholeheartedly agree with the comments below. R&S after WARP are the premier house of techno ambient.

One of the greatest if not "the" only belgian labels that has ever existed along with Music Man Records .
R & S is pure joy for the ears have great memorable tunes that everyone should recognize . I agree 1989-1995 were the golden years of this label but yeah thats maybe because i'm nostalgic ....like who isn't lol
Anyway R & S surpas easily the garbage label Bonzaï that is overrated . -
Edited 7 years agoClassic Record Label,Always has been, always will be. Everyone of us will have at least a few R&S tracks in their collection, id put money on it. Other than that id agree with everything spl3nd1d said. 1988-1991 sublime times for this vintage label. The rest as they say is HISTORY.

R&S Records was (and to be honest still is) one of THOSE labels.
If you are are an oldskool fan or a true lover of electronic music, then I think I can't tell you anything new here.
BUT, If you accidentally got here, because of, say, you've just discovered Vamp / DJ Hell / 4th Sign / Plastic Dreams / Aphex Twin / Ken Ishii etc. (this list would go on pretty much forever), and google came up with discogs, then DO NOT LEAVE THIS PAGE. Take a break, relax, and start exploring the history book of electronic music - aka R&S Records. You won't regret it.
This "demigod" label had outstanding output in the '90s - those who deny / cannot acknowledge this can not be taken seriously in of electronic music (though I've never seen anyone hating this label - for a reason I guess).
Assuming you don't have time for stuff like this, I suggest buying at least "In Order To Dance". It's not even music, it's a higher level - no BS here, most of today's music feel #@!$&#> redundant compared to this. On the other hand, R&S these days is not what it was back then, but don't let this disappoint you, even this "average R&S" is incredible sometimes. -
R&S was one of the most influential labels of the nineties for high class electronic dance and listening music.
