Great great record. Runouts on my copy differ: A side: T\ AS-9261A-2 KENDUN A1 , B side : T \ AS-9261B-2 KENDUN C1

Anyone know if the Japanese Stereo is a totally different mix than the quad or is just folded down into two channels?

Edited 2 years agoAside from the top left side corner being used as a cat scratching pad, my copy is STRONG VG+ and sounds awesome! The bass is strong and present on the title track Elevation and the music is just flawless gorgeous perfect Pharoah. I just listened to my Thembi OG 1971 press and it had a much higher noise floor and some of bells/whistles were so shrill.... Elevation is a completely UNDERRATED PHAROAH LP.
-
Seeing these multiple recording dates at The Ash Grove, the mind reels to think that multiple complete live Pharoah shows were actually recorded in their entirety. And had not the entire Impulse catalog been melted in that big fire, if we might have one day had something like "The Complete Lee Morgan at the Lighthouse" box. Alas.
-
My copy sounds quiete awful, thin and flat. Also the record has not been well kept, so maybe affects(?).
-
How does the original pressing sound? The running time on the album is extremely long for a single album. I usually go for the originial but I am a little doubtful in this case.
-
Curious why the images of the cover have such a blue tint. Camera error? My copy's cover is grayish / pale lavender.
