Edited 10 months agoOutstanding pressing! Loud cut, mastering is incredible and has a HUGE soumdstage. Filling the entire room! Although I haven't heard many other pressings it is tough to imagine a better one.

If anyone has a decent cover let me know. I found a solid LP, but without the jacket so looking for a partner for it.

Edited 3 years agoI have a solid near mint LP with near mint cover- first press. A nicer copy can't be had, other than sealed. Just putting this out there- If anyone has an original Misfits single on Plan 9 or anything rare on the Cramps (like a test pressing, for instance), or a near mint first press of the first KISS LP (NEAR MINT OR SEALED ONLY), I'd be interested in a trade. This copy of Maggot Brain cannot be upgraded. It's as near mint as it gets. I'll leave this message up. If the message is here, I still have it.

Edited 3 years agoDoes anybody know about this forthcoming 50th Anniversary 2LP version? Apparently it's released on Southbound Records(?). I wouldn't give it a second glance except for this one little part in the blurb:
This issue is mastered from fresh transfers of the tape.
I can't find any further information about this anywhere online. I can't imagine it would be all analog (though a fella can dream). Who's doing the mastering or cutting the lacquers? Where will it be pressed?
If you have any info, feel free to chime in.

I have this vinyl but the cover I have doesn’t look like any of the ones on here. On my cover it’s a skull.

Do yourself a favour if you're thinking of getting a recent reissue and get an older re-issue with a SEW cat no (EG Maggot Brain rather than some modern mastered off a cd, coloured vinyl crap which will cost you twice as much.

Bought this when I was 14. A perfect fusion of acid rock, funk ,and RnB. I was hooked. The problem is I could never find anything to come close to this. Not even from Funkadelic. Rip....Eddie Hazel

Ignore the 'review' by the dope from Audion. It's all great of course! He its he only reviews it because it sounds like a bunch of white grebo prog loving hippies. Funkadelic is not normally his kind of thing. How narrow minded and square do you have to be to not love Funkadelic? Yeah you know!
