Blown away by the sound on this pressing. I thought this was the best recording of a Purple concert. It isn’t. It’s the best recording of ANY live performance EVER! Get your grubby paws on this version. Yeah it’s pricey, but will be the best purchase you will make in a loooooong time -
Excellent pressing!
The separation between the instruments is superb, and the drums come out really clean apart from the Charley, which is a bit shiny (mic).
The guitar sounds devastating, as it should, and the Hammond and Leslie are right in front of us. The bass is abyssal.
As far as I'm concerned, the only thing that isn't brilliant is the vocals, but that's all right given Deep's style ;) -

this is a very nice japan only released sleeve for the great hard rock classic from 1972 MADE IN JAPAN!!!!! i have had this copy for decades!!!! it is one of the best live albums of the 70s released!~!!!! regardless THIS IS/WAS THE JAPAN SLEEVE UNIQUE TO JAPAN ONLY! the worldwide release has the usual sleeve!!!!!
