Notes

Both band name and album title on front cover have a gloss varnish, causing them to be prominent on the otherwise matte sleeve.
This contrasts with the entirely matte sleeve of the US release.

Comes with colour printed lyric inner sleeve.

Recordings engineered at Abbey Road, London in July '96. Further recordings at Sarm West, London.
Mixed at The Church, London in September '96

One of the most consistent albums. Beautiful, unique, and touching. Brilliant lyrics and arrangements. Truly a wonderful album. Utterly phenomenal artistry!

I own a Degritter. I cleaned this record twice, and it sounds really, really great. I would love to know its pressing/mastering details as it sounds fat, quiet, rich, and perfect... Nick's voice is A++..... I'm not a huge Nick Cave fan, but I love this album in every way.

I would love to know, is there a better pressing? If so, which one? I would love to hear it.

Record needs a really thorough ultrasonic clean - at least twice! Mastering / production / mix is fantastic. Cave is at his best on this release.

Not dead silent, but quite so. Really, it's not inky black, there is a minimum of crackle, but I am not complaining: this is a very quiet album where even a minimum of noise would be distracting, and this pressing doesn't disappoint at all. Provided that you get a good copy, of course: I had the return the first one because it was unacceptable. The one I have now is very very good.

Some surface noise, but not that annoying, in my opinion. Maybe the record need to be clean a little bet. I weighed the record and it's approximately 180gr, even if it's not specifed in this version's description.

Have to agree with the comments below. There is a floor of surface noise/static throughout this pressing. Very disappointing for such a great album. Might not be as noticeable on a less detailed system. It’s almost unlistenable with tube amps and a moving coil cartridge.

This is a terrible pressing. The mids sound scooped, the surface noise is constant and the overall quality feels flimsy. I would go with the original pressing for this album.

My copy is entirely correct with this release, except: Side A matrix is: 3G55362-01 A4. Any explanation for this?
