This is the best vinyl release of this album shame it didnt come with a booklet like the original uk press
-
Interesting that this is one record where I need to turn volume down from my default setting. Usually it needs to be turned up. Sometimes by quite a lot. Otherwise it sounds good.
-
Excellent release. The sound is great in every way - wide, airy, deep and detailed.
Exceptional quality of vinyl - not a single tick.
Yes, it would be nice to see a gatefold, maybe some additional materials on Side D. But at least we have flawless sound and pressing quality. -

Edited one year agoA missed opportunity to do something special with this release. Lack of a gatefold edition is just plain lazy. Pressing is very clean, and on-par with The Boatman’s Call. Leaving side D blank serves absolutely no purpose, and is a poor effort by the artist / label or management.
-
Can’t fault this pressing/remaster it sounds fantastic. Yes Mute could have added additional remix’s on the blank side D and made it gatefold with a booklet.
But all is forgiven here! Just for the wonderful job done on tracks like Stagger Lee and Lovely Creature. 5 stars no question.

No gatefold, D side is just blank... a missed opportunity. They could have done something special here. For all its pressing quality, this release fails on heart.
-
The pressing that I have has Lovely Creatures on side A and in place of Curse of Millhaven on side B. Anyone else with a copy like this?
-
Edited 8 years agoNo problems here, really good pressing, I had a bootleg of this which actually sounded pretty good, but this blows that version away, a nice full and clear sounding piece of wax..
