If I could rate this higher than 5 stars I would. Soundstage is super wide and the low end just crushes. Hearing the drums hit from all over just sounds intense. If you can afford a copy of this, do it. It's how this album was meant to sound.

My copy loops at a couple places on Hurt. Could this be a needle problem? The record looks fine to my eye and otherwise sounds amazing.

How does this compare to the OG UK pressing? Better or the same?

In the name of all things holy...I had gotten so used to listening to this on streaming services and my copy of the definitive edition ( I didn't want to play this one for obvious reasons). This copy KILLS. I'm no audiophile, but even in my modest system, you can hear a definite (pun intended) difference. If you are into NIN at all, this is the version to get. Stunning!!!

I inherited this when a friend ed away, along with all his other records. This one was in a box in his basement (along with some ministry, skinny puppy, dead Kennedys, and a scraping fetus off the wheel record) and I had no idea I had it for months. Even more surprised when I found that not only was it not a reissue, it was a promo copy. I never would have shelled out what people are asking for this currently, but it's a great find. Best part is it sounds amazing!

Has anyone else here tried to record a needledrop of this pressing to get the dynamic range stats? I think it sounds fantastic, no doubt, but I tried to record it (playing on an AT LP120XUSB + Ortofon 2M Blue) and Mr. Self Destruct for example says it has the exact same DR as the original CD... it could just be my setup (or the fact that my 2M Blue is relatively new) but I'm curious if anyone else has tried and gotten the same results.

Edit: Tested with the stock AT-VM95E and the DR was at 10 for Mr. Self-Destruct. Seems it's just a new needle problem after all.

Edit #2: Now have an AT-VM95SH, and my god this pressing is perfect. Dynamics are great and it still is perfectly loud yet clear. Closer thumps here like no other record in my collection.

I have a sealed copy of this. Very light shelf wear.

Picked this up at some store that sold used records and other stuff in 1995 or so, never played it for a decade or so. That was a mistake. it sounds incredible. Mine came without the letter, and I actually wasn't aware that it was a promo for years, as it's only printed on the record labels. Mastered hot, beautiful dynamics. Get it if you can find it.

The sound quality on this US promo 1st press is nothing short of stunning. I had the Definitive Edition 2023 US RE vinyl, and this pressing makes the DE sound like a copy of a copy of a copy of a...

After discovering there was a letter with this press in the photos i thought id have a good look in mine which ive had for 15 years, no letter but found a sticker partially stuck in the first pocket of the sleeve. Yellow background with purple lettering : nine inch nails the downward spiral NIN.
                      Anybody else have this?
