I’m having a completely opposite experience to the other lone reviewer. I picked up this about 8 years ago knowing full well it was a bootleg and I being pretty satisfied with it. I recently got a new Ania Pro MC cartridge and gave this album a test and it sounds phenomenal! Since the source is unlikely from the original tapes I’m going to assume it’s from the CD but regardless, my unofficial blue marbles copy sounds wickedly good! Zero surface noise or any other pressing anomalies. I guess it’s a crap shoot with these bootlegs but I can attest that there are some fantastic ones out there.

Edited 6 years agoas long as no official release on vinyl exists, the only way to obtain this album on vinyl is by buying a bootleg. This one on blue marbled vinyl looks pretty decent but that is not the case when you play both records. The pressing is off on so many levels, it is clear that there was no quality control 'cause it starts with the surface noise, which is worse than a general picture disc. Then there's the fact that just like many recent official pressings especially from the US the hole doesn't seem to be in the middle which makes the music sound unbearable. It's like the whole thing went through a Kevin Shields' (My Bloody Valentine) whammy bar style before pressed on the wax. I am happy that I didn't pay a lot for this double LP, otherwise I would feel screwed. Be careful when buying this record on some market somewhere. You sure will feel disappointed.
