Edited one year agoA lifelong Metheny fan, this is my favorite record and I doubted I would find a clean vinyl copy since they are pretty rare. Spotted this and paid a for it without any second thoughts.
The music is exquisite. Along with First Circle and Still Life(Talking), this is Pat's Brazil-era sound with large ensemble, latin percussion, horns, voices, the works. The magic formula is well dialed-in by this point: Lyle M, Steve R, and Paul W.
The mix is fantastic. Super layered and immersive throughout. Dynamics and details. Mastered by Bob Ludwig. Thankfully, I can say as much about this pressing, big and detailed, no complaints whatsoever.
5 stars for a true contemporary jazz masterpiece. -
Edited 4 years agoWhat a stunning record! Music is absolutely breathtaking, one of his best album (in my opinion) and this US press sounds just perfect, lively and dynamic, joy to the ears, solace for the soul...
